WACA Council Meeting
The 1st WACA Council Meeting of 2023 was held on 24 January in Vancouver, Canada, graciously hosted by Judith Guevara and Greg Clark in their home. The meeting was held to coincide with the Memorial Service for WACA Past President, Gerry Philbrook, which current President, Maga Ramasamy, and myself attended. Many thanks are expressed to Judith and Greg as well as to the Vancouver Interline Club which invited us to attend an executive meeting of the Club and presented us with a surprise welcome cake.
IATA has commenced a major renovation project to reduce the current amount of office space. The work entails closing all floors in due course to renovate which means all the IATA staff will have to work from home for long periods while their specific work areas are renovated. Due to this renovation work, WACA has been requested to vacate its office space as soon as possible until further notice. This will require me to work completely from home once again in the same manner as I did during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Association will retain access remotely to the IATA office for e-mail, folders, the website, etc. and receive full IT support as required.
WACA's Ambassador for Blind Children, Suheil Baqaeem, recently had the great honour of welcoming Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein and his fiancée Rajwa Al Saif at his workshop for the blind
