31 August 2007
40th Annual General Assembly (AGA)
Important Information
The following is being passed to you on behalf of the Regional Vice President, Africa, Indian Ocean Islands and Middle East, Yousef Yousef:
1. Interliners who are not on the pre-AGA tours should send Yousef their arrival date and flight number so he can arrange transfers from the airport to the hotel.
2. Yousef will notify interliners how much payment they still owe over the next few days and arrange collection of the balance in Cape Town. Any errors in the amount should be notified to Yousef prior to departure. The balance must be paid in South African rand not United States dollars and no cheques or credit cards can be accepted.
3. All interliners registered on the pre- and post-AGA tours should have received information about travel arrangements with SAA and the following updated information 40th AGA - Pre-AGA Tour JNB-Kruger-JNB; 40th AGA - Pre-AGA Tour Sun City-Mabula-Durban and 40th AGA - Post-AGA Tour The Garden Route Safari. If anyone has not received this vital information about SAA they should contact Yousef.
4. Interliners who are visiting friends in Cape Town are welcome to attend the opening ceremony, cocktail reception or the Gala Dinner of this special 40th Anniversary AGA but will have to pay ZAR 500.00 per event and must book with Yousef before 12 September.
5. If extra nights are required in Cape Town, interliners should make their request to Yousef prior to their departure. Two nights pre- and two nights post-AGA can be booked. These must be paid at the AGA registration desk not to the hotel.
6. The AGA registration desk will open on 14 September in the afternoon.
7. Copies of all bank transactions related to the AGA will be on hand in Cape Town.
Baggage Allowance
For those interliners arriving in Johannesburg and then continuing to Cape Town, it is important to remember that, if you are travelling on an ID standby ticket, you will not be a connecting passenger and different rules may apply to the number of pieces and weight of your baggage. It is highly recommended that you check the South African Airways Web site http://ww3.flysaa.com/ or contact its reservations desk for more details.
WACA Fee
All interliners attending the AGA must pay a WACA fee as published in the promotional information. The fee, which was determined at the 38th AGA, for Delegates and Assistants to the EC is USD 15.00 and for all other participants including Members of Honour USD 30.00. Participants should note that this fee should be paid in United States dollars not South African rand.
