43rd AGA: The 2010 Interline Celebration
Site Visit
It is confirmed that everything is ready and the organising committee under the aegis of the Interline Club of Portugal (ICP) is sparing no effort to welcome the participants of the 43rd AGA: The 2010 Interline Celebration in Recife from 17-22 October reports WACA President, Maga Ramasamy.
A recent site visit by the PIC President, Antonio Ferrão, the WACA V.P. Public Relations, Rosemarie Mamede and myself, ensured that all the facilities have been checked, authorities contacted and venues finalised. The Hotel Golden Tulip Recife Palace is a very convenient hotel for the Annual WACA Event as it is located in the middle of the main beach of Recife, the "Boa Viagem" - you just have to cross the street to enjoy the beach.
Registrations are in full swing and we are pleased to note that the PIC is receiving some early responses and the earlier participants apply the better will it be for good organisation and preparation.
The WACA EC members are all fully committed in putting their collective shoulders together to assist the hosting club to make the AGA an another outstanding success.
Rosemarie kindly took some photographs of the visit which can be viewed via the following link:

Photographs 1 and 2. This is the view we had from our room in the hotel. You can see the beach from all hotel rooms.
Photographs 1-3. View of the apartments, DBL and SGL. All rooms are provided with a safety deposit box.
Photographs 4-6. The auditorium for the AGA and lobby for the coffee breaks.
Photograph 9. All five rooms for the Regional Meetings, the Board Room for WACA-EC, a storage room for our use and the hospitality suite of the Interline Club of Portugal are all on the same floor.
Photograph 10. The days begin with a Brazilian breakfast with lots of tropical fruits.
Photographs 11 and 12. Beside the indoor restaurants a BBQ invites those who prefer to sit outside, just beside the pool.
Photographs 13 and 14. You can meet friends in the lobby bar for a drink or enjoy the tropical spirit at the beach with your own drinks or those provided by the kiosks, just as this fresh coconut. The beaches are guarded and are illuminated all through the night.
Photographs 15-22. A visit to Olinda, a World Cultural Heritage site since 1982, will be one of the highlights. One of the oldest cities in Brazil, with its buildings and churches from the colonial period, the picturesque alleyways, typical hand trades and bars as well as sweeping views of the modern Recife and the sea will delight all participants.
