June Newsletter
V.P. International Events and Special Projects, Elaine Miller, sends the following message for June.
It is surprising to realise we are over the middle of June and the Equinox is upon us. Time seems to be flying by and soon we will be coming together for our 42nd Annual International General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur. There are a few things I would like to remind everyone about and ask your support so that our Kuala Lumpur experience is a success.
First of all, I would request that each Regional Vice President makes sure each country in their region brings their national flag that should measure approximately 4 feet by 6 feet. We would like to use them in our opening ceremonies. It was a beautiful display presented in Nassau and a tradition we should continue to show our pride for our home countries. Secondly, all interliners are reminded to please bring quality items to donate for our “Tombola” evening to add fun and suspense to our fundraiser. This went over so well in our last AGA and we hope to do even better this year. Once again, we will be collecting school supplies, toys and toiletries to be given to a local children’s charity. We want everyone attending to bring something for this worthwhile cause.
Our WACA Grand Venture Bonanza Raffle is still going on and we are always looking for contributions for prizes to be drawn throughout the year. If you are having an event and can provide a prize we would be happy to hear from you. Also cash prizes or other interesting donations would be gratefully received.
I hope you all have a warm and restful summer wherever you find yourselves. Before we know it we will once again meet together in Kuala Lumpur.
Yours in interlining,
Keith Miller
