Executive Committee Meeting
A most successful and productive Executive Committee (EC) Meeting was held in Montreal on 27/28 February. The meeting was held in a local airport hotel on 27 February and in the downtown IATA offices on 28 February. The EC wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Member of Honour, Aubrey Winterbotham, and all his assistants from the Montreal Interline Club especially those that home hosted members of the EC.
WACA Vision and Mission
President, Maga Ramasamy, would like to inform all interliners that a new WACA Vision and Mission was developed at the EC Meeting as follows:
Vision
To be the best recognised social organisation for employees, family and friends in the airline and related industries.
Mission
To organise local and international social events for active and retired employees, family and friends so that they will be united in friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding and linked with social responsibility projects.
Various tasks have been assigned to respective EC Members in line with the above Vision and Mission to drive our Association in the right direction. Two of the main special projects we would like to realise before 2010 are the introduction of the WACA ID card and the new WACA Portal as tools to be used by our fellow EC members to fulfil their tasks as assigned for the benefits of the general membership. Until I will be in touch with you again I wish you all well.
42nd Annual General Assembly (AGA): The 2009 Interline Celebration
Over 100 interliners have now registered for the 2009 Interline Celebration reports Secretary General, Julian Chau. Registrations are still being received on a regular basis so it looks like it is going to be a very well attended event. Julian would like to remind interliners that they are required to attend this event if the wish to take one of the pre- or post-AGA tours.
Pre-AGA Tour: Langkawi Tropical Get-Away
There are now approximately 30 interliners registered for this tour says Julian.
Pre-AGA Tour: The Singapore Explorer
An updated brochure and registration form can be found in the Event Calendar section of the WACA Web site.
Post-AGA Tour: The Borneo Adventure (Packages A, B and C)
The Borneo Adventure Package B sold out almost as quickly as Package A had done so Julian has now arranged a third tour (Package C) to try and accommodate all interliners wanting to visit this special island. Almost 50% of this extra package has already been sold so it is expected that a "standby" list will soon be set up.
Details about the Interline Celebration and the tours can be found in the Event Calendar section of the WACA Web site: /waca/events.
43rd Annual General Assembly (AGA): The 2010 Interline Celebration

44th Annual General Assembly (AGA)
In accordance with 2.4 of the Bylaws, any Member Club wishing to host the 44th AGA in 2011 should submit its intention by e-mail or on the Club's letterhead to the Secretary General by the end of April this year. All submissions will be published and distributed in due course and delegates at the 42nd AGA in October will decide a time and place accordingly.
