Mandatory Office Closing Update

The province of Quebec continues to gradually allow businesses to reopen under strict conditions and in stages following the easing of restrictions that were imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each stage allows specific types of business to open and the gradual reopening of offices such as WACA’s located in large buildings has resumed with a limit on the number of staff allowed in each office at any time. I have now, therefore, been allowed to return to the office on a limited number of days per month and so will continue to also work from home as required between my restricted office visits.

The 2020 Interline Celebration

The WACA Council continues to look into the possibility to host an annual gathering in the form of a “mini AGA” this year which would become the 2020 Interline Celebration sometime in October/November. It is intended that the Celebration will be an occasion to review the current affairs of the Association and define our future goals taking into consideration the affects of post COVID-19 as well as organise tours and evening social events.

Information about the cost and logistics to host the Celebration in an easily accessible European city is being sought but service providers are finding it difficult in the current situation to provide specific options and quotations. The Council will make a decision whether to proceed with the Celebration in August based on the premise that our members can meet safely in accordance with the host country’s government restrictions on travel and public gatherings.

Grand Venture Bonanza

And the Winners is ...

The first draw of 2020 for a USD 100.00 cash prize graciously donated by the Sydney Interline Club was made today in the WACA office by myself due to the social distancing restrictions that are currently in place. There were 270 tickets in the draw and the lucky winner is Louise Zangger from the Interairline Club Zurich with ticket number 14810. Congratulations.

Next Draw

The remaining 269 tickets will now be included in the next draw scheduled to be held at the end of August for a USD 100.00 cash prize donated by the Vancouver Interline Club.

KEEP WELL. STAY SAFE.

Yours in interlining,
