53rd Annual General Assembly (AGA):
The 2020 Interline Celebration
Pre-AGA Tour: Java
Grand Tour
The tour starts in the ancient
capital of Central Java ,Yogyakarta (known as Jogja by the local inhabitants), the
ancient capital of Central Java and is now the centre of Javanese art and culture. Three nights will be spent in Yogyakarta to allow plenty of time
to explore this ancient city and venture out to see the fabulous UNESCO
monuments of Prambanan and Borobudur. The UNESCO Heritage site of Borobudur is
one of the world’s greatest ancient monuments boasting the largest Buddhist
temple in the world that was built over 1,000 years ago making it even older
than the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hzJW52orYk&fbclid=IwAR3exZ49sKAo-gvddshTnIhR1nKDo0TMhIZa3bVpEDQf6VGyOdgCik56amI. In addition, the
volcanoes of Bromo and Ijen will be seen and coffee plantations in Kalibaru
will be visited before ending with two relaxing days at the West Bali National
Park. The following two videos show some of the wonderful things that will be
encountered on this enchanted island tour which is schedule to take place from
11–18 October: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_wHDfhmdz0. https://vimeo.com/13987972.
AGA
Package
Scheduled
to be held in the luxurious 5-Star InterContinental Bali Resort from 18–23
October, this exciting comprehensive five-night package provides participants
with a wonderful opportunity to savor the rich and diverse culture of exotic
Bali “Island of the Gods”. Almost everything in Bali has a spiritual meaning.
The middle of Bali is dominated by dramatic volcanoes of the central mountains
and hillside temples such as Pura Lempuyang while the tallest peak, Gunung
Agung, is the island's spiritual centre. On Bali you can lose yourself in the
chaos of Kuta or sybaritic pleasures of Seminyak and Kerobokan, surf wild beaches
or just hang out on Nusa Lembongan. The choices are endless.
Post-AGA Tours: Land of
the Dragons and the Lesser Sundas
The
Post-AGA (Package A) tour to the Land of the Dragons and the Lesser Sundas is
now sold out. An attempt was made to organise another identical tour but
securing an additional Phinisi (an Indonesian sailing ship) was regrettably not
possible. Members can still, however, enjoy the luxury of the a Phinisi by
taking Package B from 23–25 October which still has some places available. A reminder
that single occupancy is not an option on this tour. It must also be stressed
that there is a maximum of 28 participants on the Package B tour in six (6)
twin rooms and eight (8) double rooms.
