WACA Council Meeting

The 1st WACA Council Meeting of 2020 is scheduled to be held on 17–19 April in Paris, France. Auditors, Regional Coordinators and Ambassadors have been invited to attend to join the Council members in a special session about WACA’s role and initiatives to be taken in this new decade that we have just entered.

Member Clubs’ WACA Representatives and Members-at-Large are requested to send to my attention any item(s) they would like to be included on the agenda.

53rd Annual General Assembly (AGA): The 2020 Interline Celebration

Post-AGA Tours: Land of the Dragons and the Lesser Sundas

The descriptive brochure to the Land of the Dragons and the Lesser Sundas has been slightly amended. It must be stressed that single occupancy is not an option on this tour. It must also be stressed that there is a maximum of 28 participants on both the Package A and Package B tours in six (6) twin rooms and eight (8) double rooms on board a deluxe Phinisi (an Indonesian sailing ship).

The amended descriptive brochure detailing the itineraries of both Package A and Package B as well as separate Registration Forms for each package can be found in the Event Calendar section of the WACA website: www.waca.org/events.

The Silk Road Tour 2020

As can be expected, we are continuing to closely follow the news regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak especially the impact it may have on the scheduled Silk Road Tour 2020. At the moment it is hoped to go ahead as planned but deposits that have already been made are being held in the WACA bank account until at least the middle of March. The situation will now be reviewed in the middle of March and a decision will be made whether to cancel or continue with the tour will be made soon after.

Grand Venture Bonanza

Member Clubs

Member Clubs are reminded that when individual members of their Club renew their membership, they should also be requested to buy tickets for the Grand Venture Bonanza to generate revenue for the Association. Clubs requiring tickets for this purpose should order them from Headquarters and sell them as soon as possible as the first draw is tentatively scheduled to be held in March.
Members-at-Large

Members-at-Large are also actively encouraged to purchase Grand Venture Bonanza tickets for a chance to win one of the great prizes that will be available this year. Tickets cost USD 1.00 each so simply send a cheque, money order or bank draft for the number of tickets you require to WACA Headquarters.

A list of graciously donated prizes will follow in due course.

Can your Club, or you as a Member-at-Large, donate a prize to assist WACA in 2020? All prizes big or small will be greatly appreciated.

Yours in interlining,
